British Columbia Archives First Nations Research Guide. Native Web A variety of sites listed by province or territory with information on the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada. Resources for Aboriginal Studies Searchable databases, archival material, Native law cases from 1763 to 1978, Northwest Resistance history and photographs. Northwest Resistance Digitization Project Allowing access to materials relating to the Northwest Resistance of 1885. It contains a searchable database of bibliographic records. A number of the items have been digitized for online viewing. Micmac History Information on the Micmac people who occupied Nova Scotia, the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec, Prince Edward Island, and the eastern half of New Brunswick and southwestern Newfoundland. Métis Métis National Council Historical Online Database Includes a 1901 census index and images, Manitoba affidavit images, and much more. Métis Scrip The records generally consist of the following: affidavits and applications, land and money scrip notes, scrip certificates, receipts, and a number of textual files consisting of letters and memoranda outlining government policies, rulings, and procedures. Métis Nation of the North West A complete history of the Canadian Metis culture. Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture Includes a superb Atlas of aboriginal settlement (PDF format). Métis Resource Centre A comprehensive genealogical research service. Glenbow Archives – Métis Genealogy The Glenbow Library and Archives has an excellent collection of resources for the study of Métis genealogy.
